The project’s activities are divided into four content-related work packages. The first work package is dedicated to the assessment of existing practices, the analysis of stakeholders and their needs, the preparation of the report, and the sustainable tourism framework guide. The second work package includes the integration of circular solutions in festivals through the development of a festival-driven sustainable tourism model, the mapping of circular solutions, and the testing and development of an online application for SMEs interested in testing the defined solutions. The third work package foresees the development of policy guidelines and recommendations and the preparation of the regional branding strategy with the engagement of relevant stakeholders. The final work package addresses the scalability and sustainability of the project through the development of the scalability assessment and sustainable roadmap, as well as the final evaluation report and continuation strategy.
The main target groups are tourists and visitors, festival organiser and participants of those festivals, local communities and businesses, policy makers and local authorities, environmental advocacy groups and academia.
