The project involves six partners from Denmark (2), Lithuania (2), Germany (1) and Poland (1). The partnership is composed of universities, high school, vocational education centre and an association. The partners are supported by three associated partners which are municipalities (involving 2 secondary schools under their supervision) and regional authority from Poland and Denmark. The project is led by CELF – Center for Vocational Education Lolland Falster (DK).
The overall project objective is to foster cooperation, knowledge sharing, and innovation to support innovative teaching methods and extracurricular activities in order to empower young individuals to inspire each other and establish regional networks for tackling global climate challenges at the local and regional levels.
The project’s activities start with elaboration of guidelines for self-assessment on sustainability in educational institutions, conducting self-assessment in each partnership institution and creation of action plans. Within the second work package several on-line and on-site workshops for teachers will be caried out aimed on exchanging experience and discussions on sustainability education. As a result, a guide and an open on-line course for teachers will be developed. The next strand of actions is designed to empower students with enhanced capacity for cross-border cooperation, focusing on collaborative efforts to address sustainability issues. During on-line and on-site workshops, cross-border camps as well as hackathons students will work on sustainability issues and will development of small-scale projects. In parallel, the partnership will carry out a research and mapping of perspectives for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
The main target groups are students and student teachers, managers and teachers in secondary schools and training institutions, regional and municipal administration, authorities responsible for education in the concerned countries.
