The partnership is composed of universities, a business college, associations, regional authorities, and an association of such authorities. The partners are supported by 12 associated partners, which are associations, authorities, DMOs, and a chamber of commerce from LT, PL, DE, and DK. The project is led by Klaipeda University (LT).
The overall project objective is to enhance the sustainability and resilience of the SBA tourism sector by enabling SMEs to develop innovative tourism offerings through innovative cross-border nature-based wellness routes designed for health recovery in post-COVID era.
The project’s activities are grouped into four content-related activities. Within the first work package, partners identify the N-B-Well concept by conducting a market analysis and establishing a methodology for assessing sustainable N-B-Well tourism organizations with the help of the N-B-Well self-assessment tool. Within the second work package, partners develop innovative thematic routes through the implementation of pilot studies with the involvement of relevant stakeholders. As a result, partners will propose a model of thematic tours, a set of cross-border N-B-Well routes, and an interactive digital tool. In the third work package, partners will create a tourism network that includes a database, capacity-building activities, and an online platform for networking. The last work package is dedicated to the promotion of the created products as outlined in the marketing and communication strategy guidelines and ready-to-be-used educational and marketing materials.
The main target groups are SMEs of the tourism sector, DMOs, public institutions, NGOs, regional development agencies, chambers of commerce, national and regional parks, tourists, local communities, and citizens of the SBA.
