The project involves twelve partners from five South Baltic Programme countries: Poland (4), Lithuania (2), Sweden (2), Germany (2) and Denmark (2). The partnership is composed of institutions representing the following sectors: local authorities, public administration, universities, cultural institution, associations. Partnership is supported by nine associated partners, which are local and regional authorities, NGO, educational institutions representing all five SBP countries. The project is led by Association of Polish Communes Euroregion Baltic (PL).
The overall project objective is to create conditions for active multisectoral cross-border cooperation of youth-oriented organisations with use of small-scale democracy festivals and joint activities building EU value.
The project’s activities are grouped in four content-related work packages. First one is focused on conducting analyses and identification of knowledge and expertise gap related youth and EU and democratic values in the Programme area. Within the second, partners and target groups will exchange their knowledge and experience related to democratic festivals and the ‘Democracy Festival Strategy’ will be developed. Later the partnership will work on preparation and implementation of festivals. In the last work package, the idea of youth festivals will be disseminated towards relevant groups of stakeholders. Guidelines and tools for promoting youth civic participation will be created.
The project target groups are defined as: Policy Creators, Decision-making and strategic centres, Politicians and civil servants in municipalities, regions and authorities; Systemic youth support group/environment; Youth and NGOs.
