The overall project objective is to build up the “European Route of the Baltic Manors” that promotes an inclusive touristic valorisation of the shared manorial heritage of the SBA for the benefit of local communities & sustainable tourism development in rural & remote areas.
The project’s activities start with the series of actions (research, meetings, discussions etc) with different stakeholders (manors owners, politicians) aiming at legal & formal constitution of the international “Baltic Manors Association”. Next, mapping of institutions & networks dealing with research & education as well as screening & analysing available scientific studies on the shared manorial heritage of the Baltic Sea Region is planned. There will be also education & exchange events for young people on manorial heritage organised. The next strand of actions is dedicated to developing & launching a labelling & quality scheme for tourism offers along the European Route of the Baltic Manors (ERBM). Partners will also focus on jointly promoting inclusive manor tourism offers along the “European Route of the Baltic Manors”. In the last project work package partners are going to launch the “European Route of the Baltic Manors” & apply for the status of a “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe”.
The main target groups are:
- Potential users of the route (domestic and international guests)
- Tourism actors that can become a part & directly benefit from the route (Manor owners & operators, local tourism service providers, DMOs, tour operators),
- Essential supporters for the further development & maintenance of the route (national, local & regional authorities, monument protection authorities),
