Today we are back in Poland, in West Pomerania region. This is part of the wider Pomerania region that encompasses an area from the German to the Polish Baltic coast. The region consists of several protected areas: seven Landscape Parks and two National Parks, one of which is the Wolin National Park, famous for its coastaline and for being the habitat of European bisons.
The main urban center is the city of Szczecin, whose university led Baltic MuseumsLoveIT, a project focused on the promotion of coastal attractions (sea museums, natural museums and science centres) to turn them into sustainable tourism destinations. The project aimed to deliver new IT-enabled tourism products for natural and cultural heritage tourist destinations in the area to increase their potential in the cases of bad weather, low season, peaks in high season (crowds) and for tourists with language barriers.
