The last region we are going to discover in our Explore South Baltic column is Skåne County, the southermost region of Sweden. Together with the Danish Zeland region and the Capital Region of Copenhagen, Skåne region forms the wider Øresund Region. Malmö represents the biggest city in this area, but other cities worth to mention are Kristianstad, Helsingborg and Lund.
Malmö Museums is project partner of BalticMuseums Love IT!, a project focused on coastal attractions (sea museums, natural museums and science centres) to turn them into sustainable tourism destinations. The project delivered new IT-enabled tourism products for natural and cultural heritage tourist destinations in the area to increase their potential in the cases of bad weather, low season, peaks in high season (crowds) and for tourists with language barriers.
